The Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi is reportedly back on the shooting regime after a 6 month break due to COVID-19. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film will be shot in one of the Mumbai studios for now. The set has been created at the studio with the intent to replicate Kamathipura. The shooting regime also includes night and day shooting.

Alia Bhatt will be seen playing the role of a powerful and respected madam of Kamathipura brothel in 1960s.
